My Story

Welcome, and thank you for stopping by!

I'm Renee LaFlam, a Cybersecurity Specialist and proud Honors graduate of a Cybersecurity Specialist Diploma program in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I bring over four years of professional experience in cybersecurity and IT, backed by more than 20 years of independent experience working with software, hardware, and operating systems.

My technical foundation is supported by 13 industry-recognized certifications—9 earned through CompTIA’s TestOut platform and 4 from TryHackMe.com. This journey reflects my deep commitment to continuous learning and staying current in a fast-paced industry.

While in college, I volunteered 24/7 as a Cybersecurity Specialist with a Canadian Federal Government Agency, where I gained critical real-world experience. My contributions led to a contracted role supporting both strategic cybersecurity initiatives and day-to-day operations. Though my contract has ended, I continue to serve on the agency’s Volunteer Leadership Team, providing part-time support and leadership on key initiatives.

Now, I’m channeling my skills and passion into offering PC Upgrade & Maintenance Services to individuals and small businesses—providing trusted, personalized support to improve system performance and reliability. All clientele must be residing in the Lower Mainland, BC, Canada.

Additionally, I’m also actively looking to network with fellow tech professionals and explore new opportunities for career growth in cybersecurity, IT/OT, systems administration, and support roles.

If you're interested in working together, have questions about my services that I provide, or would like to book a consultation, please reach out by email at renee.a.l@hotmail.com. While the "Let’s Chat" feature is available for quick questions, email will receive the fastest response.

A new IT professional will be joining the Upgrade You Team soon as well—stay tuned!
